Simplest cookie ice cream ever

One way to get started with making any sort of ice cream is to stop procrastinating. Once you've created the most uncomplicated flavour ever, you have skipped past the first and greatest hurdle.

Home made cookie ice cream happens to fall into this category of really simple ice creams to make. Even if you mess it up, you can still find a way to salvage it.
But let me first show you the list of ingredients you will need:
160ml full cream milk
40g brown sugar
80ml cream
2 yolks
30g double chocolate chip cookie

And here is what you got to do:
1. Heat 160ml milk in sauce pan
2. Mix brown sugar with two egg yolks in a bowl
3. As milk heats up but stops short of boiling, pour heated milk slowly into egg yolk-sugar mix (this method is known as tempering)
4. Stir thoroughly and swiftly as you pour the heated milk and return the tempered egg yolk-sugar-milk mix back into saucepan
5. Cook until custard thickens and coats back of spoon
6. Strain custard through metal sieve into 80ml cream
7. Whisk thoroughly and let custard reach room temperature before putting into freezer to set
8. Remove from freezer every 30 minutes and whisk thoroughly to incorporate air into ice cream custard
9. Mix double chocolate chip cookie when ice cream custard is about to set

Makes about 250ml ice cream. Serves two.

One reason why it is hard to mess this up is because even after you mixed cookies into the ice cream and you find that it is still not as appetising as you imagined, you can count on Hershey's chocolate sauce to make things a little bit more palatable.

If all else fails, transfer the ice cream into blender and pour some full cream milk in and give it a good blend. You will still get yourself a good milk shake.
